Q: Will this strip?
A: If used for guitar care it should not but over time you may have some wear and tear. It is a really strong special plastic so make sure you use the correct size and all 6 sides or the wrench is engaged on the the nut to avoid slipping and damage to the Octopus.
Q: Can I use this to take off and replace tuning machine bushings?
A: In most cases it is great for this, but if the hex nut on the bushing is extremely tight and does not budge then you may need a thicker metal wrench to remove them to avoid damaging the Octopus.
